Just on the fifth day of the consecration of Ram Lalla at the Ayodhya Ram Temple, the number of priests at Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirthkshetra tripled. Along with the head priest, four assistant priests were assigned to serve Ramlala, but now ten more priests are also deployed. Thus the total number of priests is 15. All the four priests were working in two shifts in the new temple from the make shift structure.
This rotation of priests was according to the timing of morning-evening darshan. Due to the higher than expected crowd after the Puja, the duration of darshan has been fixed at 16 consecutive hours. Because of this, the work pressure on the priests has increased a lot. Due to this, an emergency meeting of the Pilgrim Area Religious Trust Committee was held recently. The meeting was held at Vaidehi Bhavan Janaki Ghat.
